Confidentiality Nicola is a fully accredited member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW) and is dedicated to practicing in accordance with the ethical standards of practice required by this professional body. As stipulated in the ANZASW Code of Ethics, all information exchanged during counselling and social work practice is confidential unless the following circumstances exist:   • The “client or someone else (such as a child) may be endangered or harmed by non-disclosure”. • In the situation of an emergency, “a decision to provide client information to responsible third parties may be in the client’s best interests”. • Compelled by legislation or the courts.     Client confidentiality will be discussed further during the first consultation.
